SAIHCM's Workshop on Employee Performance Appraisal
On October 27 2016, true to its mission stated as "to provide support towards building a cadre of efficient healthcare managers committed to delivering quality health care services, through creation of capacity building, networking and communication opportunities" SAIHCM hosted a no-fee payment workshop on Employee Performance Appraisal at the Foundation of Professional Development (FPD) head office in East Pretoria. The workshop, one of many that will be held in the future, (as a means of development for healthcare managers) was offered as a benefit open only to the paid-up members of SAIHCM.
Content for the workshop included such topics as leadership and accountability in employee performance appraisal, a thorough teasing out of the NDOH Employee Performance Management and Development System policy, how to objectively conduct employee performance appraisal and finally preparing oneself for own performance appraisal. Workshop presentations and facilitation conducted by the highly experienced team of the SAIHCM Board of Directors were matched by an equally enthusiastic and highly engaging group of participants. The workshop also offered an opportunity for participants to network and share experiences associated with employee performance appraisal. Based on the challenges brought to attention during the workshop discussions the SAIHCM Board is planning to run one or two more workshops on this topic in the new year.
